The lead scientist in charge of the clean-up effort – Dr. Ranajit Sahu – is a certified environmental manager (CEM) in the state of Nevada, a quality environmental planner as defined by the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice (IPEP), and has been an adjunct professor at UCLA and USC.
The site's soil will be analyzed before and after the remediation. Each home site will be retested again before any residential construction begins.
The clean-up is being conducted according to and in compliance with all local, state and federal laws. The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection has primary oversight responsibility with Clark County and several agencies also involved.
