General Construction Activities

Restoration Project

BRC began the full remediation operation in the summer of 2008 for the site located just north and east of the intersection of Pabco Road and Warm Springs Road.  In March 2010, BRC completed the primary remediation work on the site. Work will continue on a smaller scale as BRC moves into the confirmation sampling and spot remediation phase of the overall remediation process. The operation will run during daytime hours only. Daytime operations on the eastside will consist of soil sampling and additional soil excavation as necessary that will be transported across Boulder Highway along Warm Springs Road to the CAMU using smaller trucks. The remainder of the project is expected to be completed by December 2010.

Traffic Control

With the primary remediation complete, traffic control devices (flashing signs and orange barrels) are expected to stay on the side of the road unless night hauling is neeeded. Please note that there may be flaggers along Warm Springs Road to stop traffic when the haul trucks are entering and exiting the site. Your cooperation by obeying the flaggers is appreciated.

Construction Oversight

It is customary for a restoration project of this magnitude to have adequate oversight in order to ensure administrative, financial, quality, safety, and regulatory objectives are met. To that end, Basic Remediation Company (BRC) along with state and local officials have implemented a system of oversight to ensure the project is properly implemented; consistent with regulatory and permit requirements; and the public’s safety and that of the workers, both during the actual remediation and placement of the impacted material is assured.
