Dormant Henderson Waste Water Treatment Plant | Dormant Henderson Waste Water Treatment Plant |

Bellbottoms and disco were all the rage the last time the Henderson Waste Water Treatment Plant located on the 2,200-acre site was in operation. After being closed more than 30 years ago, the plant has sat vacant and dormant adjacent to the City's southern Rapid Infiltration Basins. Today, the CIty of Henderson's sewage is processed by a new facility, located near Sam Boyd Stadium. It was built in 1994 to handle the area's growth and is currently being expanded. To make way for the new master-planned community, LandWell needed to demolish the old plant. Basic Management, LandWell's parent company, leased the land the plant sat on to the city for a nominal amount for decades. In August 2007, LandWell began demolition. The work was completed in November 2007. There was no cost to the taxpayers. |
