We consider accountability paramount and appreciate the involvement from regulators, local jurisdictions and the public. It is the intention and mandate of the LandWell Company, through the cooperation and oversight of these groups, to remediate the site to the highest standards. Much time and effort has been put into thoroughly investigating and characterizing this 2,200 acre site, and words cannot express our gratitude for all those engaged in the process. From a regulatory standpoint, the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) leads the oversight and is supervising the remediation process to ensure the land is remediated to the highest standards. The NDEP has a portion of it website dedicated to this project. It is located at http://ndep.nv.gov/bmi/index.htm The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has delegated its authority to the NDEP but maintains involvement to help ensure the project is completed timely and in accordance with US EPA standards. The NDEP has jurisdiction over the clean up. Locally,the City of Henderson continually monitors the progress of the remediation effort to insure compliance with applicable standards. The LandWell Company will oversee the cleanup of this site and Basic Remediation Company, an affiliate of The LandWell Company, will carry out the physical clean up of the property pursuant to detailed plans approved by the NDEP. |
