Restoration Project
BRC has now begun the full remediation operation for the site located just north and east of the intersection of Pabco Road and Warm Springs Road. The operation currently runs 24 hours a day from Sunday night to Saturday afternoon. Daytime operations on the eastside continue as they have for several months. These activities include the conditioning of both wet and dry soils so they may be transported to the CAMU (see below). In the evening, starting at 7pm, conditioned material is loaded into trucks and transported across Boulder Highway along Warm Springs Road to the CAMU. Transportation activities along Warm Springs Road are only conducted from 7pm to 6am.
Corrective Action Managment Unit (CAMU)
Waste placement into the CAMU's first cell has begun. In addition, installation of the liner system has begun. The liner system consists of three layers of Geosynthetics. The first layer is a Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL), the second is a 60ml (approximately 1.5 millimeters thick) Geomembrane, and the final layer is a Geocomposite drainage layer. Geosynthetic installation for the first cell is expected to take approximately three weeks.

Additionally, work continues on storm drain improvements which include two detention basins and piping that will control rainfall runoff once the landfill is completed. The detention basin excavation is complete. Piping installation has begun and should be completed by the end of the year, however the basins are able to contain all stormwater.
