Restoration Project
Work has been completed on the pilot soil mixing project for the ponds located just north and east of the intersection of Pabco Road and Warm Springs Road. Work continues on soil mixing for the ponds located just north and east of the intersection of Pabco Road and Warm Springs Road. This process involves the excavation and placement of wet material on various "pads" of dry material. As the wet material dries from simple evaporation, it is mixed with dry soil to accelerate the drying process. After the material is dried sufficiently, it is placed in large stockpiles for future transport to the Corrective Action Management Unit (CAMU). Hauling of contaminated soil offsite to the CAMU is expected to begin in October 2008.
